Rochester Rhinos (USL) 0, New York Red Bulls (MLS) 1
The New York Red Bulls earned a tight 1-0 win away to the Rochester Rhinos on Wednesday night. The game’s lone goal was setup when Gonzalo Veron was pulled down in the Rochester penalty area in the 19th minute, forcing the referee to point to the spot. Midfielder Sacha Kljestan stepped up and buried his effort past Tomas Gomez in the 20th minute. Rochester threatened to find the equalizer, but the Red Bulls kept the USL side honest, as they ran out 1-0 winners and advanced to the Round of 16 for the second straight season.
